Abugida Academy

This standard was tasked as part of an investigation and found deficient. A caregiver was observed on surveillance hitting a child on their head.

Spray bottle was not label. This was corrected when director place a label on the spray bottle.

Two caregivers did not use the straps on the high table during mealtimes. The was corrected when the caregivers placed a child in the high table for snack. Children who were not able to be strapped into the high table sat at a nearby table adjacent to the caregiver.

The gate was off the hedges on the playground. This was corrected when the director placed the gate back on the hedges and locked it.

A caregiver grabbed a child's hand as a form of discipline.

A child was pulled by his shirt by a caregiver to be moved to a different location.

An employee working at the operation had a 'pending' background check.

The 0-11 month classroom had five children with one caregiver. This was corrected at inspection when one child moved up to the 12-17 month old classroom and both classrooms were in ratio.

One infant under 12 months was sleeping a crib with a shawl in the crib against the infant's face. This was corrected at inspection when the shawl was removed from the crib.

Children were watching a movie that was not related to the curriculum.

Two forms of corporal punishment were used to discipline children. This included yanking and hitting children with an instrument.

Child Care Licensing was not notified of injuries to a child that required medical attention.

The infant room did not have an activty plan posted in the classroom.
