Kids Connect of Houston

A 17 month old infant was observed with 4 year old students.

The toddler classroom was observed with 14 students. The classroom is out of ratio by 3 students.

Diapers were observed in the the pre-k classroom trashcan. The trashcan did not have a lid.

A bowl of hotdogs were observed uncovered in the refridgerator. Note: This was corrected during inspection. Pictures were taken.

Two staff members were observed smoking at the front of the operation.

Three infants were observed seated at the lunch table without usage of the safety straps. Note: This was corrected during inspection.

One play yard was observed with two holes located in the mesh. Note: Corrected during inspection. Pictures were taken.

The infant caregiver did not provide correct ages for the children in care.

One infant bottle was observed without a label. Note: This was corrected during inspection.

Based on the information obtained during the investigation, caregivers in the infant classroom are using the sink to wash bottles and hands.

Based on the information obtained during the investigation, there was sufficient evidence to support the operation is not maintaining ratio in the infant classroom.

Based on the evidence obtained, the operation is not providing second servings to students.

The changing tables, rugs, and sinks did not appear to be cleaned or sanitized recently.

In the refrigerator located in the Infant classroom several dead roaches were observed. Also the refrigerator was being used to store milk for the children in care.

There was not enough adequate lighting observed in the afterschoool classroom during naptime. This was corrected during the inspection when the caregiver added more light.
