Two children ages 1yo and 1y3mo were observed watching television in the Main classroom during the inspection. NOTE: This was corrected, the caregiver turned off the TV, and moved the children to another classroom.
The operational policies were reviewed and observed missing the promotional of indoor/outdoor physical activities for children in care.
There was no caregiver present on the second floor of the soft contained play equipment during the inspection.
Children bottles were observed not having the children's name labeled during the inspection.
The soft contained play equipment was observed having two torn areas on the side of the play structure. The metal bar of the play structure was also observed not fully covered NOTE: the metal bar was fixed and covered with the covering protector.
Good judgment was not displayed when caregivers allowed children to go back and forth into unsupervised areas within the daycare. There were also no safety mechanisms put into place to prevent a child that jumped a gate on more than one occasion, from completing this action again.
A caregiver was found to have neglectful supervised a child in care and this child was able to exit the daycare alone and was found at a nearby business.
The operation staff did not have any training on how to work with children with special care needs or issues. This was needed because the operation staff had two children whom were autistic and there was no training on how to properly care for the children.
Based on the information obtained during the course of the DFPS investigation, there were no planned activities which were inclusive for all children enrolled. The activity plan did not include children with special care needs.
