A primary classroom had a curtain hanging over the window causing the room not to have adequeate light in the classroom during naptime.This was corrected at inspection when the caregiver removed the curtain from the window.

A child did not have a health statement on file. The health statement validate that the child has been examined by a health care professional and is health to participate in a child care program.

The equipment support post were not marked to ensure the surfacing is maintained at the appropropriate depth.

A child did not have shot records on file.

A classroom reduced the ratio by 50% with a 12 month old present in the group ranging from 12 to 24 months. The ratio was 10 to 1. Ratios during nap time can only be reduced by 50% for children 18 months and older in a group. The deficiency was corrected during the inspection when a second teacher was placed in the classroom to supervise 10 children ranging from 12 to 24 months.

The director completed 15.5 hours of annual training.

Three of the four infants had current feeding schedules. This was corrected at inspection when the parent emailed a copy of the missing feeding schedule for the one infant who did not have a current feeding schedule.

This standard was tasked over for this investigation and found to be deficient. After review of the video footage from the date and time of the allegation, it was determined that the caregiver did somewhat hit or smack the child on his side leg before picking him up and taking over the sink. At the time of the investigation inspection compliance had already been met, as the caregiver was dismissed immediately following the incident the day before. A new caregiver is now present in the classroom and additional training has been provided to the caregivers.

The school's last fire inspection by a local fire marshal with the City of McKinney was on 6/23/21. No other fire inspection has been conducted at the center at this time.

At the time of inspection, two children did not have their most current immunization records on file for review, according to the age.

At the time of inspection the playground area where the slide/climb play structure is located has rubber mulch that below the required 6 inches for the height of the structure.

The governing failed to inform Childcare Regulation that there was a change in director.

The operational policies did not include information on what vaccines employees will need to have, if any.

The outdoor slide, which has a designated play surface of 5 feet or less, did not have any loose-fill surfacing material. It is currently sitting on grass.

The operational policies did not include how physical activity will be promoted at the operation.

The operational policies did not include provisions for breastfeeding mothers.
