The operation did not notify 4 children parents of a situation that placed them at risk at the time of the incident. The children were left unattended in a classroom. The deficiency was corrected during the inspection when the director contacted the parents by phone.

Based on the interviews with staff, the operation was found to been out of compliance with the minimum standards for a licensed childcare center. 4 young children were left in a classroom unsupervised.

Management did share an incident report with the parents of 4 children of an incident that placed that children at risk. The children were left in a classroom unattended.

Based on a DFPS investigation, it was determined that management did not immediately notify the parent of a child that was in a situation that placed the child at risk.

Based on a DFPS investigation, it was determined that a young child had access to medication.

Based on a DFPS investigation, it was determined that management did not report to Child Care Regulations a situation that placed a child at risk within 2 days of the occurrence.

Based on documents provided, the operation did not maintain a daily report on ,4/23/2024, to share with a young infant's parents.

Based on interviews with the staff and the parent, a caregiver observed a young mobile infant with a pill in the child's mouth as the child was crawling during floor time.

Two children did not have the required vision and hearing screenings on file for review.

The operation's last documented fire inspection by the local Fire Marshal was on 4/3/21. No other record of a recent inspection was available for review.

At the time of inspection, five children enrolled into care full time did not have their most current, based on their age, immunizations on file available for review.

Based on a review of the information a caregiver at the operation did not deny that she yelled at the children.

Caregivers, in charge of children under 24 months, were lacking the training in early brain development.

Staff were missing the required training in building/premises safety and handling/storing of hazardous materials.

This standard was evaluated with regards to an investigation and found to be deficient. Two infant children were in high chairs but only the lap strap was being used. The high chair also comes with a shoulder harness, which was not being used. Both types of straps should be used at all times.
