Upon arrival, there were 2 persons providing care for the 12 children. Neither person has had a background check ran on them through licensing. A 3rd caregiver who has provisions came back from lunch. This was corrected during the inspection when all children were sent home for the day. Background checks were ran while this inspector was present.

It was determined the operation has not conducted a fire drill since the first week of March. A drill was conducted during this inspection which brings them into compliance.

There were multiple holes in the fence that would allow a child to become trapped or escape the fence line. There are ants on the mulch play area where children play. There are swings that are not compliant. The meal table was not washed and sanitized after children were playing with play dough, and prior to meal service. This was corrected when the table was cleaned.
All caregiver's cpr expired 8-12-21. The director is missing 5 annual hours, and does not have the topics required for annual compliance. There was a sub present, who had no documentation of orientation. No caregiver had current sids/shaken baby training, and there were 2 children under the age of 2 present.
The director had to go to the kitchen and prepare children's meal, leaving the children in care in the main room of the building with the inspector and a volunteer sub. Nap mats were in another room, and while trying to put the mats out and doing other tasks, children were observed climbing over each other while laying down, an infant was crawling on top of other children, children were taking each others blankets. There was no orderly meal to nap time routine observed.
Of the 5 children's files reviewed, some were missing the address of the emergency contact, one did not have authorization for emergency medical care, and there were 2 drop in children in care and no records were available for these children.
No water was available for children during lunch. One older infant was provided their meal, and ate the majority of it, before milk was offered. An 11 month old infant drop-in was only supplied formula for lunch. Parents may bring meals, but they must sign stating they are responsible for the nutritional value.
Due to the number of citations issued during this inspection, and the overall observations, the director is not ensuring the operation is operating in compliance.
Children were observed being given lunch without washing hands. The caregiver did not wash her hands or those of children that had diaper changes, until asked to do so.
There are 4 cribs in the operation and none have labels.
