There was sufficient evidence to determine the neglectful supervision of a ten-year-old child who left the operation unattended and walked home, approximately 15 minutes away. The caregivers were unaware of his absence until the parent called the facility to notify them.
The director did not ensure that staff were aware of their responsibilities or that each caregiver was assigned a lunch period that assured appropriate supervision coverage. As a result, a child left the operation unattended.
Supervision was compromised when two caregivers went to lunch at the same time leaving some of the classrooms with napping children unattended.
