Observed the operation using a rental vehicle to transport children that does not have a child safety alarm. I spoke to the operation about putting in a variance until they are able to have their own vehicle out of the shop.

During a walk through of the operation, there were cleaning supplies, Odo Ban and shaving cream in a cabinet that was unlocked and in the reach of the children in care. This was corrected when the items were moved to a locked closet.

The operation's handbook was missing policies including infant safe sleep, hearing and vision screenings, information about contacting Child Care Regulation and reviewing minimum standards and inspection forms, and breastfeeding.
Observed infant reading instructions not being updated monthly for all infants not on table food. There was one form for August and 2 forms for July and the room has 10 infant enrolled.
Observed multiple classrooms that could not provide licesning with a current activity plan. The plan was also not posted outside the room where the operation usually keeps their lesson plans. This was corrected when lesson plans were added to each classroom.
Observed an infant changing mat to have a small tear. A piece of tape was used until the opration can buy a new mat.
Observed cleaning supplies such as lysol, clorox wipes, and frebreeze in unlocked cabinets within reach of children in two toddler rooms and school age room. This was corrected at the inspection when the cleaning supplies wre moved out of the reach of children.
Observed that the playground area for the toddlers was not being maintained. Observed trash and a diaper on the ground and dirty play equipment. This was corrected at inspection when the playground area was cleaned up. Observed a light switch without an outlet cover in the school age room. The was corrected at inspection when a cover was placed over the light switch.
Based on evidence obtained during an investigation, it was found that a form of prohibited punishment was used when a caregiver pinched a child in care resulting in a bruise.

After a review of children's files, a child enrolled in care did not have a food allergy emergency plan signed by a physician on file for review.
During a walk-through of the facility, hazards were observed that included an untreated wasp nest near the playground area, ant poison near a walkway used by children during transitioning, and a loose plank near the bottom of the building that led to an area underneath the building. All of these areas were immediately corrected when addressed, bringing the facility into compliance.
There was an electrical outlet exposed in two classrooms. Safety covers were immediately placed over the electrical outlets when addressed, bringing the facility into compliance.
