The infant classroom was observed out of ratio when the second caregiver left the room several times to open the front door throughout drop off. The specifed age group was 0-11 months and there were 7 infants present. A caregiver was observed having to leave a classroom of preschool children unattended for less than minute to unlock the front door to receive children coming in for care. Caregiver was also put in charge of administrative/clerical duties as all employees present were responsible for supervising children in care. This was corrected when the director arrived at the center and took over admin duties.
A large bottle of homemade weed killer along with bottles of vinegar and dish soap were on the floor within children's reach as they walked to and from the restroom. This was corrected at inspection when the solutions were moved from the area and made inaccessible to children.
The emergency preparedness plan is missing written procedures for the evacuation, relocation, and sheltering/lock-down of children during different types of emergency situations.
Two children did not have signed healthcare provider statements on file after being enrolled for 12 months or more.
An employee with a pending background check was observed caring for children. She completed fingerprints however the employee recently recieved notice that the fingerprints did not go through and they will have to be resubmitted.
There were five infants under 12 months old in care with one caregiver at 10:30am. At 10:50am a second caregiver came in to the infant room which placed the infant room in compliance with ratios.
